Šis kūrinys atspindi vidinę kovą su mintimis, kurią perteikia perdėtas mąstymas, abejonės savimi ir susikurti lūkesčiai kaip save pateikti šių dienų pasauliui. Kūrinys kalba apie žmogaus polinkį kurti kruopščiai suformuotas savo tapatybės versijas – kaukes ir iliuzijas, kurios padeda pritapti, išvengti kitų vertinimo ir atitikti visuomenės lūkesčius. Laikui bėgant šios įsivaizduojamos tapatybės gali tapti tokios stiprios, kad užgožia tikrąjį Aš. Mes investuojame savo energiją į įvaizdžio palaikymą, prisitaikymą prie aplinkinių lūkesčių ir siekį tapti tuo, kuo, mūsų manymu, turėtume būti. Tačiau šiame procese dažnai prarandame ryšį su savo autentiška esybe, slypinčia po savisaugos ir vaidmenų sluoksniais.
